Silvered mirrors

Hanging Mirrors is the title of a series of wheel-like, blown wall objects, whose colors seem to have been breathed into the glass. In their interplay with natural light, which passes through the convex glass bodies and reflects back into the room due to a mirrored surface, the works develop their luminosity and immerse the environment in soft color moods. The reflecting surfaces mirror viewers and room i distorted perspectives. Yet neither the golden balloons nor the Hanging Mirrors can be viewed as utility objects in the sense of classic mirrors. Nor is the artist interested in a profound deconstruction of reality by creating an alienating copy. His works seem to exist solely for their poetic interplay of light, color, and surface, in which they incorporate their environment.
